Privacy Policy

How Piki Money handles your information

Adla Limited, trading as Piki Money, is a licensed New Zealand Financial Advice Provider. We give KiwiSaver advice, and to do that we need some of your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

  • Contact details: your name, email and phone number.
  • Identity details: your date of birth, address, IRD number and KiwiSaver member number, when you become a client or ask us to make an application for you.
  • KiwiSaver details: your provider, fund and balance.
  • Your financial situation: things like your income, savings and debts, and any documents you give us to support an application.
  • Website data: cookies (see Cookies below).

You don't have to give us any of this. Without it, though, we usually can't give you advice or help with an application.

How we collect it

  • From you: through the forms on our websites, by phone or by email.
  • From your KiwiSaver provider: once you appoint us as your adviser, your provider shares information about your account with us.
  • From public sources: when the law requires us to confirm who you are, we may check publicly available information.

Why we collect it

  • To give you KiwiSaver advice.
  • To act as your adviser with your KiwiSaver provider.
  • To help with applications to your provider, such as a withdrawal.
  • To keep in touch about your enquiry or application, including if you start a form and don't finish it.
  • To meet our legal obligations. As a licensed adviser we have to confirm who you are and keep records, under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

Your IRD number

Your KiwiSaver provider needs your IRD number to find your account and process what you've asked for. We also use it to recognise you if you come back to us. We don't use it for anything else.

Who we share it with

  • Your KiwiSaver provider, when you ask us to act for you or make an application.
  • Companies that help us run Piki Money, like our hosting, email and software providers, including AI tools. They only get what they need to do that work. Some are based overseas, so your information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand.
  • The Financial Markets Authority, which can view or obtain our records about you.
  • Anyone the law requires us to share it with, such as a court or regulator.

We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.

How we protect it

Your information travels encrypted and is stored behind access controls, and we use multi-factor authentication on all our accounts. If a privacy breach ever puts you at risk of serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

How long we keep it

  • If you don't become a client: we delete your identity details (IRD number, date of birth and address) and any documents within 90 days of your last activity. We delete your contact details too, unless you've asked to hear from us.
  • If you've asked for updates: we keep only your name and contact details, and delete them when you unsubscribe.
  • If you become a client: the law requires us to keep records of our advice for at least 7 years after we stop working together. After that, we delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, apart from records the law says we must keep. Just email our privacy officer at info@pikimoney.nz, and there's no charge.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or 0800 803 909.

Cookies

Our sites use cookies to make our forms work and to measure how our sites and ads perform. They don't tell us who you are. You can block cookies in your browser settings.

If you come to us from one of our Google ads, the link carries a click reference from Google. We save it with your sign-up so we can see which ads bring people to us. It's deleted with your identity details if you don't become a client.
